Belly Trading Company was founded by Kevin and Nikko Peng of Taiwan in 1997. Privately owned and operated, Belly Trading operates through its multi-national facilities in China and the United States. Today, we are one of the leading exporters of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap.
Kevin Peng, CEO, was born a scrap man. Knowing the business like the front and back of his hand, it enabled him to deal with his suppliers and customers in the finest manner. He is committed to providing the best customer support despite market trends. Throughout the years, his expertise and knowledge in the metal industry, as well as his sincerity, has brought Belly Trading to a higher level, making it a stronger and more stable company with each passing year.
In the year 2000, Belly's new overseas branch was inaugurated in China. The facility was well known for its great growth potential. Since then, we have monitored the national and international markets closely. By keeping the goal of providing the best customer service, Belly Trading Company has made a name for itself. Our customers receive consultations regarding quality control, inspection services, and marketing of their materials based on the company's multi-national knowledge.
By the year 2001, the company extended purchasing to the entire American continent; including Canada, Mexico and South America. Tracing its consistent re-investment into the business, Belly Trading has provided a sound financial base for expansion and purchasing.
During the second quarter of the year 2001, Belly Trading became involved in the usable stainless steel market. Our milestone in scrap and secondary is Titanium and Stainless Steel. It's like a doorway for us to explore the whole new world of Alloy. Thus, in 2003, we exported a tremendous quantity (6,500 MT) of usable stainless steel and Titanium. As a result of expanding our business opportunities, Belly Trading has arrived at another level of operations.
Since 2003, steel has been the star. We have exported HMS, California package, and railroad ferrous scrap to China and Taiwan. Our expertise and networking abilities have lent a great hand in cultivating steel. Following intense traveling and coordination, offices have been set up in Mexico and Peru. Based on our diligent and successful tactics, we believe that Belly Trading has been playing an important role in this industry. With our consistent presence, Belly Trading is confident in developing new partnerships with any well-founded and prospering company.
Continuing in 2004, natural resources and iron ore became Belly's main project. Finding iron ore concessions required many years of hard work. The search of this resource has come to fruit, with engineers and locals collaborating with us in South America. Through Kevin's vision and perseverance, we can see the harvest coming.
In 2005, the focus has been scrap steel and our reach has expanded into Central and South America for Ferrous scrap. Non-ferrous and plastic scrap will also play an important role in this territory. Carried over from 2004, Belly Trading is continuously searching the concessions, not only increasing the number of iron ore mines, but also seeking manganese mines. Belly already has two manganese concessions in the workings.
In 2006 and 2007, Belly Trading experienced tremendous growth. Our steel exports have well exceeded our goals, and our non-ferrous exports from the U.S. has grown as well. Belly Trading will continue to develop and service the Western Hemisphere.
2008 will be another growing year for Belly Trading. Annual sales with all of our worldwide affiliated companies approached over $50M during 2007. We currently have an export capacity of at least 200 overseas containers per month with an excess of over 2600 containers per year (based on 2007 report). Our goals are always to increase exporting capacity as well as further develop our South American projects. With over 50 full time staff members located in the USA, Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Peru, and Panama, the company has ambitious goals to achieve even higher success than our record 2007 year.
